As we (hopefully) come out of lockdown it's given me chance to reflect on what was probably one of my personal and professional highlights of the last three months... my Cocktails & Copy Masterclass.
I have to thank Julie and Phil at Creative Resource for asking me to devise them a copywriting course, based on my previous persuasive writing courses that I had run globally for several universities and companies including Duracell, Philips, Pandora and the lovely folks at Stagecoach.
This time, due to the mood of the nation, I decided to make the masterclass more fun by adding the cocktails element. But the fun didn't stop there, as I ensured that as many of the advertising examples I used in the masterclass were as entertaining as possible. This meant delving through the piles of advertising books I have on various shelves and floors throughout my home, which resulted in the uncovering of some true forgotten gems that you can't find on the internet.
In my head I was happy with maybe 20 attendees to the first masterclass. So, it came as a pleasant surprise when Julie at Creative Resource informed me that we had maxed out the Zoom attendee limit in a matter of days and had 100 attendees. The feedback from this first course was amazing also, with lots of praise across LinkedIn and both students and professionals finding the course both fun and informative.
Needless to say, this then resulted in us having to run the masterclass again. And yes, you guessed it, we were maxed out again on attendees who yet again praised the course for its fun and informative content.
Thoughts have now turned to running the course again and I've even been asked to run the course in a cocktail bar once all this social distancing stuff ends and confidence in attending a packed bar returns.
If you've read down this far and want to know more about the course and what it covers, then simply drop me a message. If you are the head of a marketing department or agency and want to have the course run for your people to up-skill their writing in a fun and engaging way then I'm offering to run the course for you for free... yes that's right, FREE!
